Our Story
MotorCycle Holdings Limited is the leading motorcycle dealership and accessories group in Australia. Since 1989, MotorCycle Holdings has grown its dealership network both organically, by acquisitions and by being granted additional franchises in existing dealerships, and now operates from the largest number of locations in Australia.
Our core business consists of the ownership and operation of motorcycle dealerships, engaging in the sale of new motorcycles, used motorcycles, accessories and parts, finance, insurance and mechanical protection plans and servicing.
We also import and distribute a range of motorcycles, off-road vehicles, parts, and accessories to retail customers throughout Australia and our own dealer network.
Our Origins
From humble beginnings to Australia’s leading motorcycle and accessories group. It began in 1988 when David Ahmet, our Founder, joined Moorooka Yamaha. After just one year, David took part ownership of the business, which he owned with John Oliver.
Over subsequent decades, we have consistently expanded our market presence, growing our extensive dealership network through a balanced approach of organic development, key acquisitions, and securing valuable new franchises.
This calculated expansion has established our unparalleled reach, making us the operator with the widest geographic footprint in Australia. A pivotal moment arrived in 2011 with the strategic investment from Archer Growth Fund, cementing their position as our largest shareholder. This foundation propelled us to a highly successful initial public offering on the Australian Securities Exchange in 2016, a standout event in the year's capital markets.
